First Solar secures order for 547 MW of solar modules

First Solar has signed an agreement to supply Birch Creek Energy with 547 MW of advanced Series 6 Plus Bifacial thin film photovoltaics modules. Birch Creek plans to use these modules in projects across its development pipeline in the US, strengthening its domestic content strategy. The CEO of Birch Creek, Dan Siegel, expressed satisfaction with the deal, highlighting the certainty of module supply it provides. Georges Antoun, Chief Commercial Officer at First Solar, sees this partnership as a validation of their technology and competitiveness.

Energy Global magazine’s latest issue covers various topics in the renewable energy industry. It features a guest comment on how battery storage sites can address curtailed energy, along with a regional report by Theodore Reed-Martin on the state of renewables in Europe. In related news, Eavor Erdwärme Geretsried GmbH secured project financing of around €130 million with assistance from Japan Bank for International Cooperation, the European Investment Bank, ING Bank N.V., Tokyo Branch, and Mizuho Bank, Ltd. This funding will support their renewable energy initiatives.
