JSW Energy secures contract for 700MW solar capacity from SECI in India

JSW Neo Energy, a subsidiary of JSW Energy based in India, has been awarded a 700MW solar project by SECI as part of a larger bid to establish 1.5GW of ISTS solar power projects. This award highlights the company’s commitment to expanding its renewable energy portfolio and supporting India’s clean energy goals. Additionally, the company received a LOI for 300MW of grid-connected solar capacity from Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam as part of a bid for 1.12GW of projects in Gujarat’s Khavda RE Park. JSW Neo Energy’s total generation capacity commitments have now reached 12GW, with solar power contributing 2.4GW to this total.

In addition to the recent awards, JSW Neo Energy has secured a 700MW solar project from SJVN in India, bringing its total locked-in generation capacity to 12GW. The company is on track to achieve an installed capacity of 9.8GW by the end of 2024. JSW Energy is also focusing on energy storage, with plans to achieve a storage capacity of 40GWh by 2030 and aims to reduce its carbon footprint by 50% by 2030, ultimately reaching carbon neutrality by 2050. These efforts demonstrate the company’s commitment to renewable energy and sustainability goals.
