Nautilus Solar Energy, through its affiliate Nautilus US Power Holdco, has partnered with TurningPoint Energy on a 29.3-MW portfolio of community solar projects in Illinois. These projects, located in Kankakee and Livingston counties, are set to be operational by 2025. This partnership showcases Nautilus’ growth in community solar in Illinois and demonstrates TPE’s commitment to invest over $500 million in the Illinois Community Solar market, supporting the state’s renewable energy goals.
The portfolio of projects is qualified under Illinois’ community solar program and will help the state achieve its renewable energy targets of 40% by 2030 and 50% by 2040. Nautilus will be the long-term owner of the projects, overseeing construction, performance maintenance, customer subscriptions, and ensuring savings for ComEd customers while supporting renewable energy expansion.
The projects will generate clean energy for over 3,000 homes and 100 commercial businesses, creating jobs and investing in local Illinois businesses. TurningPoint Energy has pledged $75,000 in charitable donations to Kankakee and Livingston counties, with Nautilus matching this commitment for a total of $150,000 in community investment donations for this transaction alone, showcasing their commitment to supporting local communities.
