Renewable Power Capital (RPC) has finalized a deal with ib vogt for a 50 MW/50 MWh battery storage project in Uusikaupunki, Finland. RPC will oversee the procurement and construction processes starting in the first half of the year, with the project slated for completion in 4Q25. The project will operate on a fully merchant basis, participating in ancillary services and wholesale power markets. This marks RPC’s first storage project in Finland, aiming to support grid stabilization and renewable energy growth.
Since its inception in 2020, RPC has developed and manages over 170 MW of onshore wind projects in Finland, part of its 680 MW+ Nordic portfolio. Steve Hunter, RPC’s Managing Director, highlights the need for battery storage in Finland and the strategic significance of this project in the country’s energy landscape. Anton Milner, ib vogt’s CEO, commends the collaboration with RPC, emphasizing the shared commitment to clean energy.
