Trina Storage and Pacific Green held a signing ceremony for a collaboration agreement, with Trina Storage supplying Pacific Green with equipment including their newest BESS solution, Elementa 2. Pacific Green is headquartered in London and focuses on developing BESS assets and emissions reduction projects for industrial customers, including the maritime sector. Pacific Green’s first grid-scale project went online in December and the company has projects in development in Europe and Australia. They recently acquired a 500MW BESS portfolio in Italy as well.
In Australia, Pacific Green is targeting 1GW/2.5GWh of projects and has secured a land deal for a planned 500MW/1,000MWh project in South Australia. Trina Storage’s Elementa 2 was previewed at an event in Australia before its global launch in London. The UK is Trina’s biggest energy storage market outside of China, with over a gigawatt-hour of Elementa systems shipped there. The Elementa 2 product features lithium iron phosphate cells sourced from Trina’s own production lines and includes safety features such as a liquid-cooled thermal management system and protection against thermal runaway and fire events.
