Eurobank A.E. and the Greek Public State have partnered with Enipeas Single-Member S.A., a subsidiary of Lightsource bp, in a financing agreement under the National Recovery and Resilience Plan ‘Greece 2.0’. Eurobank is the sole financial institution financing the Enipeas project, a massive solar project in Europe with a capacity of 560 MWp requiring an investment of €395.15 million. Lightsource bp, a global leader in solar projects, has built over 8.4 GW of solar capacity across 19 markets and entered the Greek market in 2020. The Enipeas project will generate nearly 1 TWh of energy annually and offset 379,000 tons of CO2 emissions, contributing significantly to Greece’s energy transition and decarbonisation efforts.
The financing agreement includes a €315.34 million long-term loan from Eurobank and €170 million from RRF resources, with Lightsource bp contributing €79.82 million in own funds. The project will be located in Larissa and Fthiotida and consist of two clusters spanning 6926 acres. Constructing the project marks a vital investment in Greece’s clean energy transition, attracting foreign capital and promoting renewable energy sources. Eurobank’s commitment to sustainability projects reflects the impact of ‘Greece 2.0’ on the country’s economic and social transformation. The Enipeas project is expected to commence operation in 2026 and play a crucial role in Greece’s energy autonomy, sustainability, and environmental protection efforts.
