Google Distributed Cloud (GDC) offers robust security and platform enhancements to support the operation of AI and other enterprise-grade applications. Achieving ISO27001 and SOC2 compliance certifications demonstrates GDC’s commitment to meeting regulatory and compliance requirements. A managed Intrusion Detection and Prevention Solution (IDPS) has been introduced to provide transparent inline protection for GDC workloads using Palo Alto Networks technology.
Platform enhancements include the introduction of GDC Sandbox for application developers to build and test services in a Google Cloud environment, GDC racks optimized for AI and general compute workloads, and GDC storage flexibility to support large analytics or AI workloads. Survivability enhancements provide support for disconnected mode and offline management features, while Apigee API management solution is supported on GDC.
Managed GDC Providers are now offering GDC as a managed service alongside specialized skills and technologies tailored to specific industry needs. Independent software vendors (ISVs) with the Google Cloud Ready — Distributed Cloud badge have validated their solutions for GDC use. Collaboration with NVIDIA provides the latest GPUs for AI workloads, and an expanded partnership with Citrix brings virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) to secure environments with GDC.
