– Update with Galaxy AI features expected to roll out in early May

Samsung initially promised to bring Galaxy AI features to newer devices, but did not commit to older models like the S22 and earlier. However, a press release hinted at the expansion of supported devices, raising hopes for AI features on older models. A forum post on Samsung’s Korean forums outlined the devices that will receive the Galaxy AI upgrade, including the S22 family and 2021 flagship handsets.

Pre-2023 devices will not have the same Galaxy AI experience as current flagships. For example, devices from 2021 will have limited features like Circle to Search and a cloud-powered “Magic Rewrite” feature. The update is expected to roll out in early May, according to the forum post.

While it would be nice to have all features available on older devices, any free upgrade is still welcome. Circle to Search and Generative Edit are considered as valuable features, with the latter being a significant technological advancement compared to when older devices were initially released.
