ATXI Selected for Grid Reliability Project in Northern Missouri

– ATXI selected by MISO to develop $273 million transmission project in northern Missouri

Ameren Transmission Company of Illinois (ATXI), a subsidiary of Ameren Corp., has been chosen by MISO to develop a $273 million transmission project in northern Missouri. This project will enhance the energy grid’s resilience and reliability for millions of Missourians. The project will begin at a new 345-kV substation in northwest Missouri and extend from DeKalb County to Marion County, creating new pathways for energy transmission in the region. This project is a part of MISO’s Long-Range Transmission Plan (LRTP) portfolio, which includes $10 billion worth of projects.
ATXI, with over 100 years of experience in Missouri, is dedicated to delivering cost-effective and high-value projects while involving input from the community and respecting impacted landowners. The company is currently working on other projects from MISO’s Tranche 1 portfolio, including the Northern Missouri Grid Transformation Program with projects expected to be operational by 2028. Ameren Corp. serves over 2.4 million electric customers and 900,000 natural gas customers in a 64,000-square-mile area through its subsidiaries Ameren Missouri and Ameren Illinois, with ATXI developing, owning, and operating regional electric transmission projects.
