Empire Wind and the Building and Construction Trades Council of Greater New York and Vicinity (BCTC) announced a historic Project Labor Agreement for New York labor to construct an offshore wind hub at the South Brooklyn Marine Terminal. A press event was held at the Electrical Industry Training Center in Long Island City to mark this agreement, with elected representatives, union officials, project developers, and suppliers in attendance. This agreement will revitalize the SBMT as an operations and maintenance base for Empire Wind 1 and future offshore wind projects in the region.
