– DOE’s Clean Energy to Communities program helps local decision-makers achieve clean energy goals
– Opportunities include in-depth partnerships, peer-learning cohorts, and short-term technical assistance in areas like decarbonization strategies and energy efficiency programs
DOE’s Clean Energy to Communities program assists local governments, utilities, and community organizations in achieving clean energy goals using tools developed by national laboratories. The program has benefited over 200 communities in the US, offering guidance and support for clean energy transitions.
To continue its success, the DOE has announced new funding, technical assistance, and learning opportunities. This includes the In-Depth Partnerships program, which offers support for communities to develop decarbonization strategies with the help of national laboratory experts.
Additionally, there are opportunities to join peer-learning cohorts and receive short-term technical assistance through the C2C program. These initiatives aim to promote energy efficiency, renewable energy deployment, and planning for clean energy in various communities across the country.
The C2C program is funded by the DOE’s Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy and managed by the National Renewable Energy Laboratory in collaboration with other national labs and the World Resources Institute. Interested parties can learn more about the opportunities and apply through the C2C website.
