French fund manager Conquest has acquired two onshore wind farms in Finland with a total capacity of 182MW, developed by Winda Energy. The deal, executed through Conquest’s fund, Conquest Infrastructure SLP – Sustainable 2, represents a phased total investment of €1bn ($1.08bn) to be utilized between 2024 and 2028. The wind farms are expected to be operational between 2026 and 2028, with additional onshore wind projects with 500MW of capacity planned in collaboration with Winda Energy. Winda Energy is also managing the development of 25 other renewable energy projects in Finland. The first two wind projects are nearing the ready-to-build stage, with 182MW expected to be ready by Q4 2024 and the remaining capacity by Q4 2025. Commercial operations for the portfolio are set to commence between 2026 and 2028. Both Conquest and Winda Energy expressed enthusiasm about the partnership and the contribution to Finland’s green energy transition.
