Gigafactory to be built for 20GWh battery storage system

1. Good Enough Energy announced plans to invest in a new energy storage plant in New Delhi at the IESA conference, with an initial investment of US$18.07 million.
2. The Indian government is supporting the deployment of energy storage solutions to integrate renewable energy and extend electricity access to rural areas, including through the PLI scheme for battery cell manufacturing.
3. Tata AutoComp Gotion Green Energy Solutions, a JV between Gotion High-Tech and Tata Group, has already produced BESS equipment in Pune and supplied it to a Tata Power project, the largest solar-plus-storage plant in India.

Good Enough Energy announced plans to invest IR3 billion by 2027 to ramp up annual production capacity to 20GWh. The announcement was made at the IESA Stationary Energy Storage Conference in New Delhi, co-hosted by Good Enough Energy. The founder, Ashak Kaushik, revealed that IR1.5 billion has already been invested in the plant.

The company also unveiled two new BESS products at the conference, attended by Ministry of New and Renewable Energy officials. The Indian government has been supportive of energy storage solutions for integrating renewable energy and improving grid reliability. The Production Linked Incentive scheme aims to subsidize advanced cell manufacturing.

Tata AutoComp Gotion Green Energy Solutions, a joint venture between Gotion High-Tech and Tata Group, has already begun production of BESS solutions in Pune. The company supplied BESS equipment to Tata Power for India’s largest solar-plus-storage plant. The JV aims to ramp up production to 6GWh capacity and develop battery management systems.
