Hyperstrong, a company based in China, has expanded its operations by setting up offices in California, Frankfurt, and Australia to target the North America, EMEA, and Asia-Pacific regions, with a Singapore office overseeing international operations. The company specializes in buying battery cells and integrating them into various Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) solutions, including DC and AC blocks, as well as developing its own BESS components like containers, inverters, and an energy management system platform.

The firm’s latest generation BESS solution is a 5MWh 20-foot DC block offering 1-4 hour durations, with 10GWh of orders from outside China already secured. Hyperstrong’s approach to the US market is described as “flexible,” acknowledging the existing expertise in the BESS supply chain and indicating a willingness to partner with established providers to boost the market.

At Solar Media’s Energy Storage Summit USA 2024, Hyperstrong was a sponsor and speaker, showcasing its capabilities in the energy storage sector. The company’s expansion efforts align with the shifting dynamics of the global energy storage market, with a focus on establishing strong market relationships before potential import restrictions from countries like China.

The growing emphasis on whole lifecycle, battery degradation, and other metrics in the US and European markets differs from the price-focused approach of BESS buyers in China. Solar Media will host the 2nd Energy Storage Summit Asia in Singapore, providing insights and networking opportunities for key players in the rapidly evolving energy storage market.
