1. EASYMETERING’s smart meters have been approved by the FCC for use on Private LTE with Anterix 900MHz spectrum.
2. The technology allows for deployment on private wireless networks throughout the mainland US, as well as in Hawaii, Alaska, and Puerto Rico.
3. The smart network interface card (NIC) for the Smart Meter offers multi-interface wireless technology to enhance advanced electronic power meters supporting AMI 2.0 and increasing bandwidth requirements.
EASYMETERING has received approval from the US Federal Communications Commission for its smart meter to be used on Private LTE with the Anterix 900MHz spectrum. This certification allows for potential deployment of the smart meter on private wireless networks across the mainland US and in Hawaii, Alaska, and Puerto Rico. The smart network interface card for the Smart Meter I-210+c uses the ME910G1-WW radio chipset to enable advanced electronic power meters to support AMI 2.0 and meet the increasing bandwidth requirements for energy distribution systems.
The technology is capable of operating on multiple LTE frequency bands, offering simultaneous operation of Wi-Fi and Bluetooth wireless interfaces within the same device. By supporting Anterix’s 900 MHz spectrum, the smart NIC wireless technology enhances connectivity and reliability for critical utility communications. Anterix holds the largest amount of licensed spectrum in the 900MHz band in the US and is leading the way in providing private LTE solutions for utilities, smart cities, and communities.
EASYMETERING also offers a private LTE evaluation kit for utilities to explore the potential of private LTE in their operations. The approval of new devices supporting private wireless broadband by the FCC underscores the value of the 900MHz spectrum for grid modernization efforts. Anterix’s vice president of Ecosystem and Partnerships, Stephen Ryan, acknowledges the importance of private wireless networks in offering scale and reliability for next-generation meters.
