Energy software company Kaluza has appointed Melissa Gander as its new CEO to drive its international expansion. Gander previously served as the COO of OVO Group and played a key role in the operational and technical integration of 3.5 million customer accounts during OVO’s acquisition of SSE Energy Services Group Limited. She has also been instrumental in developing Kaluza’s operational and commercial functions over the past two years as it expands its client portfolio globally.

Under Gander’s leadership, Kaluza aims to bring advanced automation, agility, and demand response services to energy retailers in Europe, the US, Japan, Australia, and New Zealand. Her appointment as CEO follows the departure of Scott Neuman, who led Kaluza through a period of significant growth in terms of customers and global expansion. Justin King, chair of OVO Group, praised Gander for her expertise in the energy sector and customer focus, which will be crucial as Kaluza continues to innovate and adapt to changing customer demands in the energy industry.

In her new role, Gander is enthusiastic about leading Kaluza towards a sustainable and affordable energy transition, addressing challenges such as managing energy volatility and meeting evolving customer needs. She believes that Kaluza’s platform provides retailers with the tools to thrive in a complex and rapidly changing energy landscape, driving progress towards a digitized, decarbonized future.
