3. Increased adoption of EVs in India expected to result in significant oil savings and contribute to decarbonising transportation sector.

Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) has signed an MOU with Adani Total Energies E-Mobility (ATEL) to accelerate the adoption of electric vehicles (EVs) in India. The partnership aims to establish a widespread EV charging network and provide e-mobility solutions for customers. M&M XUV400 owners will gain access to over 1,100 chargers through the Bluesense+ app, enhancing convenience and accessibility. The collaboration is seen as a cornerstone in improving EV charging infrastructure and offering a seamless experience to customers.

The International Energy Agency (IEA) reports that India’s efforts to transition to cleaner energy sources, including EVs, will lead to significant oil savings. The increased adoption of EVs is expected to play a crucial role in decarbonizing the transportation sector. Additionally, the availability of natural gas has made it a preferred option for electricity generation in India, reducing carbon emissions compared to coal.

ATEL, ATGL, and INOXCVA have agreed to enhance the LNG ecosystem in India by providing LNG equipment and services. ATGL will receive project-level benefits as “preferred partners,” including access to scheduling and collaborative opportunities for establishing LNG and LCNG stations. This collaboration is expected to reduce emissions and contribute to the country’s green transition.
