Nordex Group Secures Contract to Install Turbines at South African Wind Farm

– The Nordex Group has obtained an order to supply and install 57 N163/5.X turbines in South Africa
– The order includes a service contract for maintenance of the turbines
– The wind farms are located in the Eastern Cape Province with very good wind conditions, and the first turbine installation is scheduled for 2H24

The Nordex Group has secured an order to provide and set up 57 N163/5.X turbines from the Delta4000 series in South Africa, along with a service contract for maintenance. The order is for a group of three wind farms with 112.1 MW each, located in the Eastern Cape Province with strong wind conditions. The customer and cluster names have not been disclosed at the customer’s request. The turbines are set to start installation in 2024 and delivering energy to the grid in 2025. Nordex will manufacture the turbine towers locally, creating up to 300 jobs and boosting the region’s economy. This project will contribute to reducing South Africa’s reliance on fossil fuels and increasing renewable energy use. Nordex currently holds a leading market position in South Africa, with over 1.1 GW in operation and a 32% market share.
