Parkwind sells 30% stake in Northwind wind farm to Aspiravi

Aspiravi Offshore, a subsidiary of Aspiravi Group, has acquired a 30% stake in the Northwind offshore wind farm from Parkwind, increasing their ownership to 70%. The remaining 30% is owned by Japanese conglomerate Sumitomo. The wind farm has been operational since 2014 and is located in the Belgian waters of the North Sea. It features 72 wind turbines with a total installed capacity of 216MW, which can power around 250,000 homes and reduce CO2 emissions by 309,000 tonnes annually.

Aspiravi Group’s investment portfolio in renewable energy extends to other offshore wind projects, including Rentel and SeaMade, demonstrating their commitment to sustainable energy generation. Parkwind, a key player in the Belgian offshore wind industry, continues to lead the country’s energy transition by operating 201 turbines in the Belgian North Sea. They aim to deliver clean and sustainable offshore wind energy to households and businesses in Belgium and engage in future projects to support the country’s renewable energy goals.
