2. Idaho Power is active in Idaho and Oregon and is working towards achieving 100% clean energy by 2045.
3. Prevalon’s BESS offering includes a complete AC solution with battery enclosures, inverters, transformers, and EMS, and is being integrated into Idaho Power’s long-range plans for a stable and reliable energy grid.
Prevalon has announced a grid resiliency project aimed at providing reliable power during peak demand periods, though the location has not been disclosed. Idaho Power, active in Idaho and Oregon, is working towards achieving 100% clean energy by 2045 and recently started construction on 524MWh of BESS projects with equipment from Powin.
This project marks the second major grid-scale BESS project announced by Idaho Power, which also serves as a transmission system operator and operates gas plants and hydropower facilities. Prevalon’s Battery Energy Storage Platform offers a complete AC solution, including battery enclosures, inverters, medium voltage transformers, and an energy management system.
Thomas Cornell, CEO of Prevalon, previously led Mitsubishi Power Americas’ BESS activities and emphasized the importance of collaboration with Idaho Power in incorporating their integrated battery energy storage solution into long-range plans. The partnership aims to ensure a stable and reliable energy grid for customers in the region.
