Renewable Power Capital (RPC) has partnered with Aurinkokarhu Oy to co-develop up to 1 GW of solar PV projects in Finland, marking RPC’s first solar deal in the country. The agreement will add development projects to RPC’s Nordic portfolio, with the first projects expected to be ready for construction by 2026 and operations starting from 2028. RPC is already active in Finland with operational wind and battery storage projects. Aurinkokarhu, founded by Finnish energy entrepreneurs, is a key player in the local solar PV market and has a track record of developing clean energy projects.
This collaboration follows RPC’s recent entry into the Finnish and Italian battery storage markets, including the acquisition of a 50 MW project in Finland. Kevin Devlin, CEO at RPC, highlighted Finland as a priority market for the company and expressed excitement about partnering with Aurinkokarhu to support the Nordic energy transition.
