RWE, a leading renewable energy company, has signed two 15-year power purchase agreements (PPAs) with Microsoft Corporation to provide clean electricity from two new onshore wind farms in Texas. The projects have a combined capacity of 446 MW. RWE is committed to driving renewable targets and supporting sustainable growth.

The Peyton Creek II wind farm has begun construction, and the Lane City project has received an investment decision. RWE is collaborating with industry leaders like Vestas, Wanzek Construction, and RES to build these projects. Once operational, the two projects will strengthen RWE’s position in the ERCOT market in Texas, where they already have 33 operational renewable projects totaling 4.3 GW of installed capacity.

These projects will also bring economic benefits to local communities, including job creation during construction and tax revenues. Peyton Creek II and Lane City are expected to provide approximately US$300 million each to the local tax base. RWE is committed to partnering with communities to ensure long-term benefits from its renewable energy projects.

Overall, RWE’s investment in these projects highlights its commitment to sustainability, clean energy, and supporting local communities in the transition to renewable energy sources.
