Intersolar North America and Energy Storage North America (ISNA/ESNA) is now accepting applications for the Solar Games competition, taking place in February 2025 at the San Diego Convention Center. Teams will build residential solar + storage systems live in a stadium setting, with points awarded for quality, safety, and speed. The winning team will receive $10,000 and advance until a final-round champion is named.
Michigan Solar Solutions participated in the Solar Games at Intersolar North America in 2024, and their Vice President encourages hesitant installers to apply, emphasizing the opportunity to put their skills to the test. Teams must apply by September 20, 2024, with all members needing OSHA 10 certification and one member requiring NABCEP certification or an electrician’s license. Cash prizes of $10,000, $3,500, and $2,500 are up for grabs for the top three teams.
An advisory board representing various companies in the solar industry will oversee the competition, and sponsor-provided equipment will be donated to Twende Solar for projects benefiting under-resourced communities with renewable energy systems. The Solar Games offer a unique opportunity for solar installers to showcase their expertise and contribute to sustainable energy solutions.
