Swire and Tien Li finalize agreement for wind project in Taiwan

1. Swire Renewable Energy A/S and Tien Li Offshore Wind Technology Co., Ltd have signed an MoU for operations and maintenance services in the Taiwanese offshore wind turbine industry.
2. The agreement aims to develop a joint venture focused on delivering localised wind turbine operations and maintenance services in Taiwan and other parts of Asia Pacific.
3. Swire Renewable Energy has opened offices in Taiwan and has established a strong presence in key offshore wind farm projects in the region.

Swire Renewable Energy A/S (SRE) and Tien Li Offshore Wind Technology Co., Ltd have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to provide operations and maintenance services in the Taiwanese offshore wind turbine industry and other parts of the Asia Pacific region. The agreement aims to enhance efficiency, reliability, and sustainability of offshore wind farms in Taiwan and other Asia Pacific markets. Swire and Tien Li plan to develop a large pool of local Taiwanese technicians with expertise in blade repair, electrical and mechanical maintenance, offshore marine logistics services, and wind turbine operations and maintenance.

The collaboration between Swire Renewable Energy and Tien Li is seen as a strategic move to combine their respective expertise in blade manufacturing and wind turbine services to elevate operational efficiency and drive sustainable growth in the offshore wind sector. Swire Renewable Energy already has a strong presence in Taiwan through various wind farm projects and the recent acquisition of blade repair specialist Altitec. This partnership with Tien Li further solidifies their commitment to advancing offshore wind operations in Taiwan.

The MoU signing took place in Taipei, signifying a key milestone for both companies as they work towards establishing a joint venture focused on delivering localised wind turbine operations and maintenance services in Taiwan and other Asia Pacific markets. This partnership is expected to bring about significant advancements in the offshore wind industry through the collaboration of Swire’s mechanical, electrical, and blade-related services with Tien Li’s blade manufacturing experience.
