1. Tantalus Systems announces grid modernisation initiatives in Tennessee and Massachusetts with Bolivar Energy Authority and a separate pilot programme in Connecticut with United Illuminating.
2. BEA selects Tantalus’ TRUSense Fiber Gateway to harness advanced fiber network capabilities and replace existing AMI solution for grid modernisation.
3. The Connecticut pilot programme, part of the IES Program, will focus on demand-side flexibility using Tantalus’ TRUSense Gateway and include a consortium of tech providers, academic institutions, and research centers to optimize distributed energy resources.
Tantalus Systems, a grid modernization technology company, has announced two initiatives in three US states. The company will deploy its technology for Bolivar Energy Authority (BEA) in Tennessee and Massachusetts, and will also test its tech in a pilot program in Connecticut. The initiatives involve the use of the Tantalus Grid Modernization Platform (TGMP) and the TRUSense Fiber Gateway to improve grid efficiency and reliability.
BEA selected Tantalus after evaluating multiple vendors and aims to capitalize on its advanced fiber network to enhance their AMI network and adopt advanced applications. The TRUSense Gateway and TRUSync solution will help BEA improve grid support and operate more efficiently.
In a separate initiative with United Illuminating in Connecticut, Tantalus will deploy a pilot program as part of the Innovative Energy Solutions (IES) Program. This program will focus on demand-side flexibility and aim to control electricity demand in participating homes. The TRUSense Gateway will be used alongside other technologies to optimize grid operations and enhance energy efficiency.
The initiatives highlight Tantalus’ commitment to grid modernization and the integration of advanced technologies to improve grid resilience and efficiency. The company’s solutions offer utilities a path to modernize their grid infrastructure and support long-term requirements for enhanced grid performance.
