TotalEnergies announced a new battery storage project in Belgium set to begin operations by the end of 2025 at their depot in Feluy. The project will have a power rating of 25MW and a capacity of 75MWh, with technology provided by Saft, a subsidiary of TotalEnergies. Olivier Jouny, senior vice-president of integrated power at TotalEnergies, highlighted the project’s alignment with their electricity development strategy and the expertise of Saft in battery production. TotalEnergies also launched a battery energy storage project in Antwerp last year, with a capacity of 75MWh powered by 40 high energy Li-ion containers from Saft. These projects reflect an investment of around €70m and will increase TotalEnergies’ storage capacity in Belgium to a total of 150MWh. The projects demonstrate TotalEnergies’ commitment to integrated development and leadership in battery technology.
