– Integration of gas DSOs into the DSO Entity
– Implementation of the Grid Action Plan by mid-2025
– Development of a technical vision for the future energy system from a DSO perspective
The DSO Entity has outlined its work plan for 2024, focusing on three major projects including the integration of gas DSOs, the grid action plan, and a technical vision. This includes revising the current structure and governance of the DSO Entity to integrate gas and hydrogen DSOs by Q1 2026. The Grid Action Plan, with seven out of 14 actions assigned to the DSO Entity, will involve close collaboration with ENTSO-E and the EC. Additionally, a ‘technical vision’ outlining the future energy system from a DSO perspective aims to provide recommendations on system operation, flexibility, digitalization, data management, etc., by late 2024.
The DSO Entity has expert groups on cybersecurity, distributed flexibility, data interoperability, and network codes, along with task forces on digitalization of the energy system and the ten-year network development plan. A joint task force with ENTSO-E on the digital twin and smart grid indicators has been established, along with a joint working group on data interoperability. The work plan aligns with the ongoing legislative activities in the EU and aims to ensure the key role of DSOs in the energy transition is recognized. Delivery of key findings and recommendations is expected by mid-2025.
