1. Cypress Creek Renewables completes construction of 208 MW Zier facility in Brackettville, Texas with 80 MWh of battery storage
2. Facility will provide power for over 41,600 Texas homes annually and help ease supply strain on ERCOT grid during peak demand
3. Project will bring in $11.5 million in tax revenue for Kinney County and $11.7 million for the Bracket Independent School District, helping support growth in Texas and ensure grid reliability.
Cypress Creek Renewables recently announced the completion and commercial operation of its new hybrid facility, Zier, in Brackettville, Texas. The facility, with 208 MW of photovoltaic capacity and 80 MWh of battery storage, provides clean and reliable power to meet the increasing energy demands in Texas. The facility is capable of supplying power to over 41,600 Texas homes annually and has already helped ease supply strain on the ERCOT grid during times of high demand.
The CEO of Cypress Creek Renewables, Sarah Slusser, highlighted the importance of clean, reliable power in supporting the growth in Texas. The facility at Zier has already proven vital in keeping the lights on and maintaining air conditioning during peak demand periods. The project has also provided significant tax revenue to Kinney County and the Bracket Independent School District.
Support for the project was provided by partners such as EQT Partners and the North American Development Bank (NADBank). Cypress Creek, through its operating services business, Cypress Creek Solutions, currently operates nearly 1 GW of capacity in Texas and has a 6-GW pipeline of projects in development. This includes a standalone battery storage project in Rosenberg, near Houston, set to reach commercial operation soon. The expansion of renewable energy projects like Zier is crucial in ensuring grid reliability and affordability in Texas.
