ONYX secures its inaugural contract in Indonesia

– ONYX Insight secures its first contract in Indonesia
– Contract involves delivering ecoCMS and fleetMONITOR technology to 30 turbines in the Sidrap wind farm
– Technology supports predictive maintenance strategies by providing comprehensive data analysis for turbine components.

ONYX Insight, a global predictive analytics solution provider, has expanded its presence in the Asia Pacific region by securing its first contract in Indonesia. The contract involves providing ecoCMS and fleetMONITOR technology to 30 turbines at UPC Renewables’ Sidrap farm. This technology will deliver comprehensive data and analysis to support long-term predictive maintenance strategies.

The 75 MW Sidrap wind farm is Indonesia’s first utility scale wind farm, supplying power to the Southern PLN grid since 2018. ONYX’s technology enables operators to effectively manage and plan turbine inspection and maintenance for components like drivetrains, pitch bearings, and blades. This approach to condition monitoring enhances safety, increases efficiency, and reduces costs.

The ecoCMS technology offered by ONYX provides advanced sensing and hardware to generate reliable data for understanding asset health. This data is analyzed in fleetMONITOR by the company’s monitoring engineers to provide detailed insights from various sources including vibration, temperature, particle counters, and lubrication data.

Bruce Hall, CEO of ONYX Insight, emphasized the importance of predictive maintenance solutions in the renewable energy sector, especially as the world shifts towards greater reliance on wind energy. The company’s technology enables operators to plan and execute maintenance proactively, reducing costs and maximizing performance. The contract with UPC Renewables marks a significant milestone for ONYX as it enters the Indonesian market and strengthens its presence in the Asia Pacific region.
