First Solar Inc. has received orders from MN8 Energy LLC for 457 MW of advanced thin film solar modules, including 170 MW of Series 6Plus bifacial modules and 287 MW of Series 7 modules. These modules will be used to power projects in the north-eastern and southern US regions. MN8, previously known as Goldman Sachs Renewable Power, operates a 3.2 GW portfolio providing renewable energy solutions to various entities. MN8 has worked with First Solar before in acquiring the American Kings Solar project in California. MN8’s Chief Operations Officer, David Fernandez, highlights the importance of supporting a robust domestic supply chain in the renewable industry.
