RWE has acquired 400MW of solar PV and 199MW of standalone battery energy storage system (BESS) assets from developer Galehead Development in New York, Idaho, and Oregon. The largest site is the Cedar Ridge solar PV project in Idaho, co-located with a BESS. Pacificorp plans to have 20GW of solar and wind capacity by 2032. RWE also acquired the Remington BESS in Oregon and the Champlain solar project in New York. Appalachian Power is seeking 1.1GW of new clean energy capacity through project proposals for solar PV, energy storage, or wind power. Origis Energy secured a $300 million facility from KKR to support their US solar and storage development pipeline, which currently includes a 12GW portfolio in operation and a further 13GW in development. This is in addition to previous financing for projects in Florida, New Mexico, and Mississippi. The demand for renewable energy financing is increasing, and KKR is pleased to support Origis Energy as a leading developer in the industry.
