RWE is expanding its solar portfolio by building a new photovoltaic (PV) plant in Bedburg, Germany with a capacity of 20 MWp. This plant will generate enough green electricity for around 5400 households. The company is investing around €11 billion in green generation capacity in Germany by 2030. The new solar farm is being built on recultivated land at the Garzweiler opencast mine and is expected to start supplying electricity in late summer. RWE is also working on other solar projects in the region to accelerate the expansion of renewable energy.
