EDF Renewables North America and Enbridge have completed Phase 1 of the Fox Squirrel Solar project in Madison County, Ohio, which has a capacity of 150MW. The project is expected to reach a capacity of 577MW by the end of 2024 to meet the increasing power demands of central Ohio. The solar facility consists of 1.4 million solar panels and 159 inverters. Amazon has secured power purchase agreements for the entire output of Phase 1 of the project, aligning with their goal to operate entirely on renewable energy by 2030.
The inauguration of Fox Squirrel Solar Phase 1 marks a significant milestone in their journey towards driving Ohio’s renewable energy future. Blattner Energy is responsible for the engineering, procurement, and construction of the project. In addition to Fox Squirrel Solar, EDF Renewables North America is also working on other renewable energy projects, such as the Arrow Canyon solar plus storage project in Nevada, which includes a 275MW solar capacity and a 75MW battery energy storage system.
