Mooreast Holdings Ltd has secured an order to supply its proprietary anchors to Eolmed, France’s largest floating offshore wind energy project. The company, known for its total mooring solutions and ultra-high power anchors, has partnered with Bourbon Offshore, a French installation contractor, to supply their MA5S mooring drag anchors. These anchors, weighing up to 35 tons each with a holding power of up to 1210 tons, will be used to moor three floating wind turbines in the Eolmed project located off the coast of Port-La Nouvelle and Gruissan in Southern France. The project is developed by Qair, TotalEnergies, and BW Ideol.
Mooreast, based in Singapore, plans to deliver the anchors by October 2024, leveraging its 30 years of mooring and offshore marine expertise. This is the company’s 15th offshore wind-related project since 2013, demonstrating its strong track record in the sector. In addition to manufacturing anchors, Mooreast also offers geotechnical and geophysical studies for project feasibility and engineering design for mooring configurations. The company is expanding its operations with a manufacturing facility in Aberdeen, Scotland, and a regional marketing office in the Netherlands to capture more opportunities in the growing floating offshore wind sector.
