– Each SG 11.0-200DD turbine has a capacity of 11MW and a rotor diameter of 200m
The Gode Wind 3 offshore wind farm in Germany, owned by Orsted and Nuveen Infrastructure, has started producing electricity and delivering it to the national grid. The first of the 23 Siemens Gamesa SG 11.0-200DD turbines was installed at the offshore site, located 32km off the island of Norderney in northern Germany. Each turbine has a capacity of 11MW and a rotor diameter of 200m. Orsted completed the divestment of 50% of the Gode Wind 3 project to Nuveen Infrastructure.
The generated electricity from the wind farm was delivered to the offshore substation and then transmitted to the converter station of TenneT, the transmission system operator in Germany. The renewable energy was further transported to Hilenriedersiel on the Lower Saxony coast. In the coming weeks, 22 more wind turbines will be installed on top of monopiles and commissioned at Gode Wind 3. Orsted is dedicated to supporting the green transformation in the strategic German market and sees strong investor interest in offshore wind farms.
