VARD selects TMC to outfit new cable laying ship

The VARD shipbuilding group has contracted TMC Compressors to supply a complete marine compressed air system for a newbuild cable laying vessel being constructed for Prysmian. The system will include control and service air compressors manufactured in the Nordic region and delivered to a VARD shipyard in Norway. TMC’s Director of Sales and Business Development highlighted the energy-efficient and environmentally-friendly features of the compressors, which align with the vessel’s sustainable operations. This is the third cable laying vessel Prysmian has contracted with VARD, with the second vessel still under construction and the first already delivered. VARD has selected TMC to supply the marine compressed air system for all three vessels, demonstrating trust in the technology and delivery capabilities of TMC. The new cable laying vessel, designed by Vard Design in Norway, will have advanced cable installation solutions, making it one of the most efficient vessels in the market. The hull will be built in Romania, with final outfitting, commissioning, and delivery to be completed in Norway.
